Air Quality Dashboard and R Package
Reproducible tools and interactive dashboards for analysing and communicating air quality and emissions data.
At Defra, I worked on a set of tools to make air quality and emissions data easier to analyse, update and communicate. A lot of the existing work relied on fairly fragmented scripts and manual processes, so I focused on making the analysis more reproducible and easier for policy colleagues to use. I built automated workflows in R, used Git/GitHub for version control, and developed interactive R Shiny dashboards so users could explore trends, scenarios and uncertainty without needing to work directly with the code. I also worked with Databricks/DASH and Quarto to improve the underlying pipelines and documentation. The end result was a more robust and reusable analytical workflow that supported Official Statistics, policy work and international air quality negotiations.
